Guest guest
hey! I was just about to post my experience with fasting when I saw there were already some posts about it. I fasted for about 40hrs... couldn't do more because I was taking some exams and needed the energy to study. But I highly restricted calories the rest of the week and the results were incredible. Never had my face been so clear, and I've tried a lot of things. I would even say that my face looked almost normal, something I hadn't seen in a long time. I have mild rosacea though, I don't know if it works for people with a really strong case. I get along pretty well only with metrogel. oh! if you're going to try it out be careful when you start eating normally, you should switch gradually because if not your face will get worse (believe me). I really recommend everyone to try fasting for a few days if they can. It's not only good for rosacea, but for health in general, and it leaves you feeling full of energy. Good luck! Guest guest
i recently read an article about a study that showed that a restriction in calorie consumption prolonged life in mice (i'm pretty sure it was mice). there might be implications of this discovery for humans, the article said. now they didn't mean for creatures to starve, merely to limit calorie intake somehow. wasn't there a study claiming the same about sleep, though? don't remember where i read that one. but i do know for myself that if i bog myself down with too much sleep i feel water-logged and yucchy. and my skin looks worse and redder for it. i also read an article in lifetime fitness magazine yesterday (they have a site online too) about the lymph system, and how fasting can help cleanse it. i am still skeptical about fasting, but it seems to have its place in health somewhere. -frustrated

Guest guest
Your discovery clearly shows that diet plays a part in this disease. Whether this is proven in a multi-centered, double blind, placebo-controlled clinical study remains to be seen but anyone can prove it to themselves just like you did. I agree with you so now, what do you eat to control your rosacea? There are a few rosaceans who try to do this, but most rosaceans will not fast or diet but prefer non-prescription or prescription treatments to control it while continuing their present eating and drinking habits. Your fasting results however proves to you and me that diet plays a central role in the control of this disease. Maybe someday the 'authorities' on rosacea will concur.
