Guest guest
Hi Matija, 6 servings of grains seems like a lot of grain for a low carb diet.... In addition you have carbs in fruits and veggies. Do you consider your diet a low carb diet? I know you have mentioned several times that your diet seems to help your rosacea. Thanks for your input, Elena

Guest guest
Hi Elena, I don't eat a low carbohydrate diet because I believe I get ketosis from it. It's very unpleasant to go through. I know some people don't feel the symptoms of it when they go low carb. The six servings I eat in whole grains are either 1/2 cup of cooked grain or a slice of bread. That's the lowest number of servings recommended by the USDA food pyramid. I don't eat processed carbs or sugar regularly. That has seemed to help my rosacea a lot. However, I do eat two desserts (cheesecake or a cream puff or a piece of pie) a week so I don't go crazy on this eating plan. I do eat about five servings of veggies and two-three of fruit daily. I eat salmon about four times a week and have beef, beans or chicken the other days of the week as my protein source, along with dairy products. I use olive oil as my main fat source. I eat about four eggs a week. I guess you can say that I try to maintain a healthy balance. I hope that helps!
