For the ladies out there. I was initially doing some research on

antibiotics and birth control in regards to acne breakouts. Came

across a list of birth control pills that can (for certain people)

increase your risk of acne.

These are Loestrin 1.5/30; Loestrin 1/20 FE (i'm on this and

currently breaking out!); Estrostep Fe; Levelen; Alesse; Ovral and

Norlestrin 1/50.

All of these pills are high in andogenicity and low in estrogen

content.

I personally never had much of a problem with the Loestrin in the

past, but I think since I've started taking antibiotics (doxycycline)

that my hormone levels are getting out of wack and perhaps the added

Loestrin is contributing to my recent acne flare-up. As I am not

medically inclined this is Just a theory.

In case anyone wants to check this out the website is:

www.wdxcyber.com/ncontr13.htm

They have a list of pills that are better for those with a tendency

towards acne breakouts.

p.s. also read somewhere that those on antibiotics can have acne

breakouts when they take antioxidants (like grape seed extract) at

the same time. I was also taking that.

As I am on Doxy for severe acne and am about to start supplementing with

grape seed extract and pycnogenol, I would be very grateful if anyone can

shed any light on this. ASAP, thanks!

This is interesting stuff, thanks.

I thought Estrostep is a b/c pill that supposedly

CLEARS acne - they even advertise it, which I thought

they could not do unless they ran studies and proved

it to the FDA? I'm confused (my usual state these

days)!! Does anyone know if the statement below is

truly accurate? Many thanks in advance!
