My impression is that tyramine may be the " flushing culprit " in red wine. Some people are sensitive to the presence of certain naturally-occurring amines in their food, and they can react with flushing and headaches. For what it's worth, grapeseed extract didn't agree with me at all --- it increased my flushing and made my cheeks and chin lastingly red.
