Hi ,

I hope you can stand one more comment on diet and rosacea. I had a bad week last

week, from E.R. on Monday, for chest and back pain, to Cardiac Cath on Tuesday.

As a results of all this I wasn't allowed much more than some soup, and bread

and butter, oh yes and Turkey sandwichs and lots more soup and crackers after I

came home (husband isn't very good cook ).

Now I had things like asprin, xanax, benedryl, and all the med's given for the

test. However my rosacea cleared up, and I have been home 5 days now and so far

it hasn't flared again. I'm sure it will as I start eating more things again.

The main thing I have taken from all this in regards to rosacea is that if you

are on heart restricted diet (no sugar, no fat, no salt ) it may be a big help

in this condition.

Also durning this time, I used no lotions, or creams on my face, only water, no

soap.

Not sure if this will help anyone else, but I do feel anyone who is new to this

condition, should pay attention to their diet for clues, as to how to help

yourself.

My Dr. never mentioned diet to me. He is a good guy, have used him for years,

for other skin problems, he put me on med's and creams, and helped in lots of

other way, however I now know from this experience and the one some months ago

when I was sick for days and didn't eat much, that diet is a BIG part of this

condition. My triggers maybe different from everyone elses, and I know food

isn't the whole story (I have problems with the sun) but don't overlook it

either. I think we all want a magic pill, something quick and easy, but so far

there just isn't one.

Hope you are all having a pale face day. M.J.

Yes I had a weekend of being good (willpower and had to work). Sunday evening I

had abt of a binge on choclate and bread. Ok well the next day everytime I even

touched my face it was like rubbing grains of sand onto it. The onlt thing I can

put this inflammatry reaction down to is diet.

I know a few have suggested not to analyse the skin daily but rather over

acourse of a longer period of time. However when reactions are quite immediate

ie wake up and face kills then having very obvious edema, paples skin scaling-

it's hard not to analyse.
