Someone--a derm or an opthamologist--who will prescribe low-dose accutane for OR

I, too, am looking for a dermatologist to help me with some very-low-dose

accutane for my ocular rosacea. Dr. Nase's book discusses the fact that a

" sovereign therapy " for OR using very-low-dose accutane was developed by a

world-renown dermatologist. I believe the derm's name is A.M. Kligman. Dr.

Nase indicates in his book that he enjoyed great relief from OR on very-low-dose

accutane with no side effects.

Does anyone know where I could find this doctor--or someone else familiar with

the regimen? I'm getting desperate enough that I'm willing to travel to get

relief.

I know the inclination will be to recommend doxy, which I have tried with these

results: (a) no relief for the eyes, (B) terrible gastrointestinal reaction, and

© horrendous yeast infections which I could not eradicate for months.

I religiously use warm compresses and eye scrubs two to three times per day; I

use otc theratears, as well, along with borage and flaxseed oils. This helps,

but only marginally.

The disease just keeps progressing, so now I'm looking for the relief that

others have gotten through a different type of prescription. My opthamologist

says she is not familiar enough with accutane to prescribe it for OR.

So if anyone has any specific advice on a doctor who IS familiar with this, I

would be most grateful.

it off easily.

Octyl methoxycinnamate 2%.

Other: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin,

Isodecane, Nylon-12, Proplyene glycol, Cetyl dimethicone copolyol,

dimethicone, Polyglyceryl-3 Disosterate, Acrylates Copolymer,

Acetylated Glycol sterate, Dimethicone Copolyol, Disodium Stearoyl

gglutamate, Methylparaben, Hydroxypropyl Guar, Butylparaben,

Subject: Proactiv Dermos

Hi All...... I read in an older People magazine that the Drs. who

made Proactiv are coming out with a product line this Fall that is

for faces with redness and brown spots. It is going to be available

in " better " department stores. If someone who lives in the US, and

who thinks of it, could pass along when and where it's available or,

even better, what it's like, that would be great.

Thanks,

a Begoun (a's Choice) has a new product out called Skin

Relief Treatment. It has stable aspirin in it. I can't try it as I'm

allergic to aspirin. Sounds interesting though. Might be good for

people who have burning and stinging??? I can't copy the ingredients

from the site so here it is:

i put this on after my shower yesterday, since my right cheek was

pretty red and irritated-looking (interestingly, the lesion was the

same shape as my " Test spot " for metrocream the past few nites..hmmm)

anyhow, the PC Skin Relief didnt really do much one way or the other.

its mainly supposed to be for inflammation from hair removal, bug

bites and such.

I feel really depressed. My life revolves around my face. Even though I am " very

mild " , I am obsessed with thoughts that I will get worse. I am worried to get

pregnant, even see family (they don't even know I have rosacea). I just don't

want people to know I have rosacea. Am I crazy? I don't exercise, I don't go to

clubs and drink and have a good time like I used to. I feel miserable. Please

help.

Where do you live? I have taken Accutane, low dose, for ocular rosacea--in

fact I'm going back on Monday to my derm to use it again. The last time I

had to use it was 3 or 4 years ago. I've done/am doing the same regimen as

you with limited results.

My doctor is Bernard Goffe in Seattle, Washington.
