Guest guest
Is there a legal full cream milk powder that I can add to my full cream milk when I make yoghurt? (I know people have asked about protein powder but thought this is different) Just thought it would make it extra nice and add calories? Or am I better off adding some pure cream instead? Also, any other tips on GAINING WEIGHT? The problem is, I can't progress past level 2 (pecan bread website levels), I am not game to. My gut isn't that great now, not exactly flaring badly but my stools are sloppy (and very smelly) but only once a day (sorry about yucky details). Thanks, Naomi UC 4 years, SCD 1 year (up to level2) Prednisone 2 mg, Pentasa 2 g

Guest guest
Naomi,Just a side note here. If you are really on only 2mg of prednisone, you might be better off going off of it. It can raise the level of sugar circulating in your blood and that can feed yeast, among other things. Normally the body will store excess sugar (sugar as in food digested and broken down to it's smallest components, not as in table sugar/sucrose) as fat, but one of the things that I have heard prednisone does is keep more of it in circulation. Have you considered taking fish oil or bromelain to help with inflammation instead of the prednisone?AmeliaHusband UC 9 years, SCD 19 monthsLDN 3 mgTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Mon, February 1, 2010 4:36:46 AMSubject: Full cream milk powder- Need to gain weight! Guest guest
Hi Naomi, My daughter is on SCD and also needs to gain weight. Lately, I have been using 50% full cream, and 50% full fat milk when making the yogurt. That seems to be helping by adding calories. Also, I found a recipe for homemade peanut butter cups which also are high in calories. It's basically peanut butter, honey, with lots of ground almond flour or nuts in it. Then you put them in muffin tins and freeze. They do have to keep frozen. She also likes fried bananas which I think have alot of calories because I fry them in butter. Split a banana lengthwise, roll in pecan flour, fry in butter and then drizzle with honey and cinnamom. Very tasty. Hope it helps. > > Is there a legal full cream milk powder that I can add to my full cream milk when I make yoghurt?
