I am new to this board, but a lurker...a regular poster on the pecanbread group for kids. i have wondered also why so many of us are fighting yeast. one thing i discovered is that iodine defidiency can contribute to yeast/bacterial overgrowth and toxicity in general. i have started giving my SCD kids therapeutic doses of iodine (google iodine loading) and have seen absolutely fantastic results. > > How much is a therapeutic adult dose considered to be? from 12 - 100 mg's ....a good median dose of 50 mg's > > What kind of supplement does it come in you can get a bottle of lugol's solution for around 10 bucks. a cheap investment toward good health. also you can buy tablet forms of lugol's solution called iodoral, created by a physician using iodine/iodide to treat cancer and other various ailments. good stuff > > What kind of anti-yeast results have you seen with increased iodine? mostly in my kids - die-off, headaches, yeasty diapers, clear-er eyes, one of my kids has had acne (she's two, they're very tiny little pipmles) they say this is a result of bromine being excreted from the body. > Does this also effect the performance of the thyroid? > if you join the yahoo iodine group, they have a bunch of links answering these kinds of questions. iodine has been used to treat both hypo and hyper thyroidism. > > > iodine is more than just an anti-fungal/anti-bacterial. it resides in yoru thyroid and all ofy our blood passest hrough your thyroid every 17 minutes, killing off yucky buggers and also cleansing your blood from heavy metals. most americans, they say now, are severely deficient due to florine and bromine in our diets which compete with iodine for a place in our bodies (and are also toxic). > > I was looking up iodine the other day - and apparently there is quite a bit > in eggs - and given how egg reliant SCDers are, that's one sure fire way, > at least, that we are getting iodine. yes, but americans are so defidient in iodine that it will take much more than you get in food to get your body back into shape. > > Between the cakes and the souffle bread and the hollandaise sauces, not > to mention eggs... > > Mara >

Guest guest
Hi Low Iodine is one of the many reasons people have low thyroid. You have to check if you have thyroid antibodies before you think about taking it. Are you on any treatment for your thyroid? Guest guest
I am not at this time, however my internist said it was very sluggish. On my blood test results what would be the indicator of the antibodies? I have a file with all my test results, so it helps me make my own decisions sometimes. Thanks, Re: Fighting Possible Yeast Switch to: Text-Only, Daily Digest • Unsubscribe • Terms of Use ..

Guest guest
If you are considering using iodine supplementation, I urge you to do the research yourself, don't listen to anyone on this board or elsewhere. There is a LOT of disinformation re: iodine. See link: http://www.fibromyalgiarecovery.com/IODINE%20-%20Solution%20to%20health%20proble\ ms.pdf the docs listed at the end of this slideshow...google their names and see what comes up. Lots of people have used iodine to treat low thyroid. i had a bout of low thyroid when i was pregnant with my first colicky, GI-problem kiddo. > > > I am not at this time, however my internist said it was very sluggish. Guest guest
Hi Antithyroid Perixidase Antibodies TPO Thyroglobulin Antibodies TbAb You never want to leave it to long to get treatment for your thyroid if there is something wrong with it. It will damage your adrenals. It is very important for thyroid hormone to know what your ferritin level is. Guest guest
, there are two antibody tests for thyroid that the doctor has to order separately. If they are positive that means you have Hashimoto's thyroid, which is an auto-immune condition, as opposed to regular hypo or hyper thyroid. It gets a little complicated. I am not at this time, however my internist said it was very sluggish. On my blood test results what would be the indicator of the antibodies? I have a file with all my test results, so it helps me make my own decisions sometimes. Thanks,
