Guest guest
i've been taking oregano oil twice a day to deal with any yeast. Or does oregano oil not help with that?It helps - but you may want to vary every few weeks with Grape seed oil extract and olive leaf and etc. garlic/ coconut oil, too. Mara I did it because the steroids i'm on can cause yeast overgrowth.-UC - 1+ yearsSCD - 7 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 5 pills a dayTo: BTVC-SCD From: sabrinarahim99@...Date: Thu, 4 Feb 2010 04:19:16 +0000Subject: Re: bad flare, no end in sight ,I'm sorry you had to use antibiotics. I can bet they caused your flare and yes, stress doesn't help. You probably have major yeast overgrowth now. Please don't give up on SCD. It seems you were making progress prior to the flare.I can understand the frustration with your situation but hopefully SCD will get youthrough this. The first few months on SCD are really tough both in terms of changes in your digestion, feeling hungry and tired all the time and all the cooking demands. I promise you it gets easier. A time will come when you wouldn't so much as consider cheating. For now, I would lower my carb intake (this has helped me DRAMATICALLY), take tonsof probiotics and get lots of sleep. Also, visit Crohns Boy's website. He has some great advice for dealing with flares that has helped me immensely. I really hope you feel better soon.Hang in there!-> > > > Subject: bad flare, no end in sight > To: btvc-scd > Date: Wednesday, February 3, 2010, 8:21 PM> > >  > > > > A little history... Guest guest
- Sorry to hear that. I hope you get over this bump -- ending a long-term relationship + flare can be stressful. I hope it settles down soon. -Andy.

Guest guest
Have you checked for cdiff? Good luck, Pat Re: bad flare, no end in sight , I'm sorry I would bet on the antibiotics and the stress. LDN sounds like a good next step. Breaking SCD would make everything worse. Guest guest
Hi , I have no words of wisdom, but I wanted to tell you that I admire you for sticking with the diet despite the flare. I am new to the diet and often question if it will work for me, but it seems to have worked wonders for many people, so I try to tell myself that. I hope you get out of your flare soon. Guest guest
I stay on it because it's the only thing that I can do for myself to try and get myself better for the LONG term. Guest guest
For your flare up, may I suggest taking a natural product that really helped me ( I just came out of a big Crohn flare up) : boswellia ! I bought Maxi Boz, from a Canadian cie AOR, that has 65% extract of boswellia, a resin from a tree in India and China. It's a natural anti-inflammatory product. It's the first that I don't have to use prednisone !! And my stools turned perfect within 3 weeks ! > > > > > > > > > A little history... Guest guest
Since boswellia is illegal I use turmeric as an anti-inflammatory. I cook with it (great w/scrambled eggs), and I also scoop the spice into vegetable capsules. Or you could purchase it – the active ingredient in ginger & turmeric is curcumin. Turmeric will stain yellow, also it is fat soluble so needs some fat for absorption. http://www.turmeric.co.in/turmeric_medicinal_use.htm Carol CD 22 yrs SCD 5 yrs From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of T have boswellia and tried it before with no changes good or bad.
