Guest guest
If it were me, I'd strongly suspect the honey.Ditto, since apparently it's VERY antibacterial. I'll skip it today and keep on with the FCLO so that they're separated. I just can't seem to learn to do things one at a time =) Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)Chinese Herbs (not legal but helping!) Guest guest
Alyssa I'd suspect the FCLO as that is something new you've had in the past day or two. Don't have it again for a week or two and see if your digestion has calmed down. When our upper GI gets hit with a high-fat (or high-fiber) food -- or your immune system takes offense at what it perceives as an invader -- it can increase peristalsis dramatically, trying to get it out of the body. Which causes what you're describing in the lower GI... If it persists, then consider any other supplements you're taking. I usually stop taking all supplements and fall back to my intro. diet foods for a day or two. If the symptoms persist or worsen even when I'm off all supplements and eating intro. diet foods, or clear liquids, I check in with my doctor. Kim M. Guest guest
Mara I haven't come across a specific mention of the body increasing peristalsis as a result of die-off toxins, but it wouldn't surprise me to learn this happens in some individuals. The information I found in the medical literature concerning increasing persistalsis as a result of a food mentioned only high-fat and high-fiber foods as the trigger. I'll see if I can find something in the medical literature linking die-off toxins to increased peristalsis. I swear my body has the opposite reaction to die-off -- I get a whole lot more constipated!! Which also makes sense. Digestive motility being affected to one extreme or the other. Kim M. Guest guest
cramping non-stopHi Alyssa,When my son sometimes gets cramping he uses Pepto Bismol It may help you too. Just make sure to get the original and not the cherry flavored. It is legal. Hope you feel better soon!Take care,PatElaine writes:I believe that the current treatment for gastric ulcers caused by Heliobacter pylori uses Peptobismol as part of the treatment. It has been very helpful to many IBD suff ers. I believe that the bismuth in the proper amounts works as an antimicrobial (yeast and/or bacteria). I always suggest to those suffering relapse, to talk their GP and ask about peptobismol

Guest guest
Hate to tell you this, but the excellent allergist I used to see told me we can have reactions from foods and I think other things, too, that don't start until up to 72 hours later. Of course this makes it REALLY hard to figure out what you did a couple of days ago unless you keep that diary up to date! This seems more likely to me, rather than a food reaction. Well, I still think it could've been triggered by the manuka honey. Apparently that is STRONG stuff. It could be the FCLO too, I guess. I took the FCLO about 6 hours before the episode started, and the honey about 7 hours before.

But I'll skip the honey today (since it's probably the culprit) and take my FCLO and see what happens. Sounds good.
