Guest guest
Am I in the right place? Definitely =) I think and some others on this list can't have dairy or eggs either, so they'll probably be able to give you some suggestions for that. Welcome to the group!! Guest guest
Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I woke up this morning feeling fine (aside from fatigue, which I live with constantly no matter how much sleep) and was doubting the diet again, but came here and read your replies and I'm feeling encouraged again. I read BTVC cover to cover and then some last year when I was considering SCD for me son. I decided his symptoms weren't severe enough to move forward at that time. But SCD is almost always on my mind for my symptoms!!! I'm making soup today .... for the intro diet is it correct to strain everything out except the chicken and carrots (in other words, the parsley, onion and celery can be simmered but not eaten, right?) Thank you again everyone!! > >Am I in the right place? > > You bet! > > Dairy-free SCD isn't the easiest, but it can be accomplished! > > > — Marilyn > New Orleans, Louisiana, USA > Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 > Darn Good SCD Cook > No Human Children > Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund >

Guest guest
I'm dairy-free, meat-free and now egg-free SCD. It can definitely be done. I think I've realized that I have problems with eggs on their own but when using them in something like an almond flour product I'm fine. I'll test that theory once I'm back on solid foods though You can do it egg and dairy free, trust me Stacey > > Hi, I'm new here, but have been thinking about SCD for years, My older son is on the autistic spectrum, and lots of ASD kids (as I'm sure you know) do well on SCD. Anyway, my IBS symptoms have gotten nothing but worse since my 2nd son was born 2 years ago and I'm almost miserable enough to jump in tomorrow. > > Milk gives me horrible gas. Gluten makes me sleepy. I have an IgG-mediated intolerance to eggs -- they send me running to the bathroom within minutes. Yep! Although I would recommend not necessarily puree the carrots into the soup -- you might want to have those separately. I say this because I didn't tolerate the carrots at all, and had to use zucchini. Carrots and I didn't get along for a good eight months or so. Note that you don't have to eat the soup as soup -- you could eat the chicken meat and vegetables separately, and drink the broth if you wished. In addition, you can do things like beef roasts and well-cooked vegetables as you begin to add things. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Guest guest
This may be totally incorrect but when I did Intro, I just pureed it all and it was fine. But I did Intro a couple months after I started with the regular diet (minus the dairy and eggs, as I said before). I'm making soup today .... for the intro diet is it correct to strain everything out except the chicken and carrots (in other words, the parsley, onion and celery can be simmered but not eaten, right?) Guest guest
I can't eat dairy or eggs due to IGg intolerances. I stopped eating them five months ago and I am getting better month after month. Welcome!
