Guest guest
Hi everyone, I started rotating antifungals every 2 weeks about a month ago (started with 1 Capryl capsule the first 2 wks - i have taken this before with no problem and thought it'd be safe to start off with, 1/2 candidase for 5 days then full capsule each day the rest of the second 2 wks). This past Tues. i started taking 1/2 capsule of olive leaf extract (OLE) and have felt more energy, bm's better- sorry tmi but have been having pellet-like bm's every other day (had black specs in it Tues & Wed - die-off?)and felt better mental clarity. My stomach soreness/pain has increased and have had some lower back pain/stiffness. I took 1/2 capsule Tues & 1/2 on Wed. but didn't take any yesterday and am debating on taking it today. Does anyone know if i should back off of it until my stomach pain eases up or just decrease to 1/4 capsule maybe...every other day? I guess the stomach soreness/pain is die-off? I've read OLE is very strong so maybe it's just a lot stronger than the Capryl and Candidase and i need to go a lot slower with it. I really have felt more energy and overall much better using the antifungals so i do think they're helping. Thanks for any information! Guest guest
Thanks Dawn for the information. I don't have uc but i didn't know that about caprylic acid in relation to uc so that's good to mention for those who do. Coconut oil is high in caprylic acid isn't it? Weird that i can take Capryl but I guess coconut oil creates major die-off for me because the last time i tried it it bothered my stomach and gave me lots of joint pain. I want to try it again at some point - going really, really slow though. Thanks. > > > > Hi everyone, > > I started rotating antifungals every 2 weeks about a month ago (started with 1 Capryl capsule the first 2 wks - i have taken this before with no problem and thought it'd be safe to start off with, 1/2 candidase for 5 days then full capsule each day the rest of the second 2 wks). Guest guest
What brand of Olive Lead Extract are you using? I took 1 capsule for 1 week, but didn't feel any different. Maybe it's not potent enough. This week I'm doing garlic. Next week I think I'll do GSE. Guest guest
I can tolerate both garlic oil capsules, and raw minced garlic (I put that in capsules too, because I'm not fond of strong garlic). I take it right before I eat dinner, so maybe that's why it hasn't irritated my gut. Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > > I've had extreme die-off from very potent olive leaf extract. Guest guest
Eileen, it takes time. I'm about mid-way through a month on Diflucan (fought the doctor for awhile but he was right, it's been pretty easy to get along with and I sure am starting to feel better), then next week when I get to the three-week part I will be starting to ease into the Nystatin. I asked him last week why both? He said they work differently. That the Diflucan swooshes (not his word) a lot of the easy ones out. Then the Nystatin goes in after the ones in hiding. I couldn't pin him down on how long I'll be on Nystatin. When I get done witht hat, or if I have no real trouble, I will start rotating the natural stuff. I think this is a case where " all better " really does take time. i'm doing them together Ooo and 2 olive leaf twice a day plus nystatin - shouldn't I be " all better " as a kid would say - LOL!!! eileen 2 years scd
