Wish I could sleep half that long! I have been very tired and lots of fatigue for years, so I never associated that with the MTX. I did have decreased appetite if I remember right. Have you talked to your doctor about these things? I guess I am different in that I had no side effects for several months. I am next in line for my bracelet, just waiting for payday to roll around once again. Guest guest
Hi Chuck, I had the fatigue from the metho really bad and slept at leat 16 or more hours a day. Unfortunately it didn't affect my appitite i could do with a few less pounds! The fatigue lessened as I got used to the medication but not enough that I could function properly. The doc put me on folic acid which helped dramaticly but also lessened the affect of the metho. Now the metho has gone up to 20mgs but there's been no extra fatigue from the increase. Hope this info is of help too you. Guest guest
Hi Chuck, I am also battling unrelenting fatigue, but this is something I had long before I started Methotrexate. It was actually one of my first symptoms and has progressively gotten worse. After my 3rd week of Methotrexate, which I started in June, I felt the fatigue getting somewhat better. I would wake up in the mornings and actually feel rested. I hadn't felt that for 2-3 years at that point. My overall endurance seemed to improve. I was very encouraged by this, but it was short lived. By my 7th week of Methotrexate, the fatigue hit me again-- with a vengence. Right now, I am trying to decide if the medicine is playing a roll in it now or if it is just the RP. The last 2 weeks, I have noticed that Thursdays seem to be a fairly good day for me, with regards to fatigue-- and I take my medicine on Friday. So, I am not sure yet if there is a correlation. This past week, I have had to start working part-time because the fatigue is so overwhelming. I wish I could say this has helped, but so far, I don't feel a difference. Maybe my 2nd week of part-time will show some improvement!! As far as a decrease in appetite, that has not been a problem for me. Before I started on Methotrexate, one of the other things I battled was severe nausea. This has greatly improved since beginning Metho.. I do have hit and miss episodes of it, but nothing compared to before. Please let me know if you come across anything that might help the fatigue!! I am at the point that I would pay BIG MONEY to have one day without it! Guest guest
Dear Chuck I have been on methotrexate injections for 7 years now. In the beginning it was just awful. I lost some hair spent the night after I took it up with diarrhea and nausea all night . Sometimes it lasted for days. It took a few months, I don't remember how many but it did get better and now I just get real tired for a day or two after the shot and have nausea for about that long too. It really has been a good med for me over all.
