Guest guest
Has anyone tried cooking turnip greens, other greens or green beans with pork seasonings? I have been looking for SCD legal vegetable recipes with salt pork, fat back or some other pork or other meat seasonings (like the ones I used to cook before-SCD). It doesn't seem like it would be illegal if you can smoke your own meat or buy SCD legal smoked meat that you could add to the greens or green beans. So why are there no recipes like this (that I can find) on the internet? Any suggestions, recipes, thoughts, ways to curb cravings, what you do instead of this, I'd love to know. Thanks!!! Well, because there aren't too many people eating southern style! <g> I've been working on a recipe for tasso, but haven't had a chance to try it out. Making your own sausdage is pretty easy -- you just have to figure out what spices you want. And for small amounts of smoking foods, I recommend the Cameron's stove top smoker. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Guest guest
I can't tolerate the grease so I use a lot of smoked paprika. My mom cannot tell the difference if it's a stew/soup. I also use it with baby lima beans also. Wouldn't salt pork just have salt and pork? Debbie houston cd On Sun, Feb 14, 2010 at 7:30 PM, Wizop Marilyn L. Guest guest
Here is a southern style SCD cookbook. However, she does use SCD illegal chocolate in some recipes, which you would need to avoid of course: http://foodlady.org/recipes.html Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > >So why are there no recipes like this (that I can find) on the internet? > > Well, because there aren't too many people eating southern style! > > <g> > > I've been working on a recipe for tasso, but > haven't had a chance to try it out. Guest guest
No. Salt pork at the average grocery store also contains preservatives, illegal sugar, etc. To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Sun, February 14, 2010 8:42:39 PMSubject: Re: How do you cook your veggies?
