Guest guest
Thanks. I do need to start keeping a diary. I'm scatter-brained but am a little bit closer to getting organized and keeping a diary than before. I took EPO last night, and interestingly, that helped calm the gas down temporarily. I don't know what that means. To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Mon, February 15, 2010 3:20:32 PMSubject: Re: TMI alert, gas For me, it's food related in that if I eat certain foods, they cause that problem. Recently I was surprised to figure out that eggs (at least on their own, I haven't tried them in a recipe yet) were a BIG trigger for me. I think cheese was as well but I'm not well enough to add it back into my diet yet. It's also the reason I soak and dehydrate nuts (Elaine was worried about soaking because of mold) because it helps significantly with my digestion. Do you keep a food diary? It might help to see if any foods are triggers for you. I'm currently going back up through foods one at a time in order to see what is and is not okay with my body.Stacey>> Sorry for TMI, but I have to come out with it in order to get some help. Guest guest
I do believe that food-combining works because, since I can remember, I've always been sensitive to certain fruits. I once read a book about Edgar Cayce where someone had asked him advice about problems he was having eating fruit. Cayce said it's more of what you're eating the fruit with, not so much the fruit. He said that this person shouldn't eat fruit with starchy foods. I agree with that because if I eat starchy foods too close to when I eat fruit, it bothers my tongue. He also said that oranges and melons should be eaten by themselves. I've always had strange problems with cantelope and other melons to some degree-probably ate them too close to when I would eat other things. I can eat oranges by themselves now, but they make me gassy, so I limit them, so I usually juice them drink with water mixed in. Also, I think the rule of eating fruit by itself doesn't necessarily apply to fruit juice, but I could be mistaken. I did notice that when I mixed honey with lime to make limeade, my tongue bothered me, and I had a strange sick feeling in my gut afterwards. I also had eaten tomatoes with avocado earlier that day. I usually don't add tomato to my guacamole, so that could have been it, too. There is so much to keep track of with food combining when you're not used to it. I try to adhere to it, but I don't always do it. Thanks for info.
