Guest guest
Since Yogurt has more than just acidophilus in it, what is the supplement of choice that I could take with me on long trips? Or, to supplement with when I am trying to cut dairy out for a while?acidophilus - and maybe sauerkraut or kimchee (if you can find a legal one)or s. boulardii. The other two strains are yogurt making strains and, I believe, are not in supplements. Mara

Guest guest
I am also interested in learning the specific names of legal acidophilus products that people on this list buy and use. I currently use culturelle (lactobacillus GG, no inulin). I would also like to use a product with acidophilus. I do have a bottle of lyosan acidophilus. However, I have only used it once or twice, because the skim milk powder ingredient worries me. Thanks, Jill > > > Since Yogurt has more than just acidophilus in it, what is the supplement of choice that I could take with me on long trips? THey're necessary for making yogurt, but they just go right through you. I don't think they implant at all. So I wouldn't worry about getting those in supplements. Sauerkraut would probably give you some really good stuff though. Guest guest
Yes, but in order to be labeled yogurt it also has to include 2 other strains wether they are listed or not. In addition to those 2 ( I forget what they are) dannon also has acidophilus,I'm getting better FINALLY. Thanks for asking! I ended up going back on prednisone, hydrocortisone, and 12 pills a day of asacol. The flare from these antibiotics just would not stop without all the drugs. This same antibiotics from strep throat is what triggered my UC in the first place so maybe that's why it's so bad. My plan is to get past this flare, get off the roids, and then try the opposite (immune boosters) instead of things that bring my system down. Gonna try S. Boullardi and LDN eventually. We'll see how it goes!Honestly, these past weeks surgery has been on my mind. Happens everytime I get a bad flare. I just want it gone! In any case, after the roids and before the LDN - and even the s. boulardii - you probably should consider doing a yeast elimination diet and medication duo, becausethe antibiotics are likely to help the yeast surge and so are the 'roids. Guest guest
Hi- I want to see if I have an allergic reaction to yogurt, and hence my prostatitis. I plan to cut it out for a week. Will I be able to tell the difference? During this time, is it essential to substitute with SCDophilus pills? Sorry for asking this question multiple times, but I am down. Thanks, Andy
