Guest guest
Hey everyone, I hope you can help.1. I started taking jarrow standardized milk thistle the other day. it says once a day. it's helping. should I take it in morning or night?2. I am not getting enough of the right fats. I think this is because my liver is not metabolizing them properly. I take fish oil, flax seed, black currant, olive, coconut, and I eat a little steak. I still don't feel right (I even feel an openness in the front of my head) unless I combine walnuts and avocado, pecan and avocado, almonds and avocado, chicken and pecan, hazelnuts and avocado, sesame oil and sunflower oil, and it's still not enough. What on earth should I do? Also, I'm still bloated. something I'm eating must be not right. I think it's my vitamin C supplement. I was taking 6000 mg. over the past two months I've been tapering off. at the beginning I had a wierd die off reaction to my surprise, with lots of neurotoxins. then, uneventful until I hit 500 mg. this was critical, overnight I no longer needed or could tolerate my adrenal support herbs (I think my stomach problems were causing my immune system to attack my adrenals, much in the way that they were causing my immune system to attack my thyroid before). also, I'm recovering from PTSD and the changes in physiology over the past 2 months have been putting me through tremedous shit, especially once the adrenals cleared. Also, once the adrenals cleared my nutrition needs changed immediately: didn't need nearly as much complex carbs, and now need tons of protein. can't get enough egg whites. Also, for the past 3.5 weeks I've had a cold. for 2 weeks it was normal, then 3rd week turned into bad bacterial infection. I'm better, but it's not going away completely. In the process of trying to treat it I discovered I was majorly vitamin D deficient, that is causing big changes. Also, I tried taking bee propolis to help it, and am now terrified that it might have killed off the good bacteria in my gut. the only other thing I know to take for it is elderberry extract. I've been struggling for the past few months but now I am so weak it's not funny and now I'm losing control. I don't know what to do. I think I'm low on iron, but I don't think that's the whole problem. I can't seem to get enough sleep or enough nourishment. Thanks, IBD, SCD 5 yearsp.s is there anything else I can do to cleanse/detox?

Guest guest
, I'll try to write more later, as I've got to get to work, but I just wanted to comment that I think the bee propolis is illegal (I'll have to check), so you might want to check all of your supps. As I know first hand, even a small amount of illegal can reverse progess on this diet. Also, if you are having liver problems, one easy, if long term, way of helping this is to eat/drink beets on a regular basis. I've had scabs all over my chest since I got sick a few years ago, from what I assumed was the itching from liver dysfunction, and after a month of two small glasses of mixed vegi's with beet juice, my itching has reduced probably 75%. You can also eat the beets. I, too, have Hashimoto's and I truly believe that given the proper steps, including first and foremost this diet (and once strong enough, I'll worry about the detox, including low-dose chelation). I didn't show a lot of progress at first on the diet, and there were many times I doubted that it helped at all, but after a year (plus some low-dose (7.5 mcg of compounded, legal T-3) thyroid meds), I'm doing pretty good. Hang tough, Ellen

What on earth should I do?Can you eat butter? Usually it's pretty easy to eat more fat if you are mindful of it. I put tons of coconut oil and butter on my chicken breast; it really soaks it up! Also, things like lemon curd and hollandaise sauce are basically all fat (butter and egg yolks) and pretty tasty. You could blend egg yolks into your broth to get some extra fat.HTH!
