Guest guest
Dear All: First, I would like to warn anyone going on Dapsone to be SURE that your doctor is checking your blood frequently. I was put on it this summer starting at 25 mg. and worked up to 100 mg. By time I had been on this drug for two months, I became extremely anemic (dangerously so) and stopped taking it. I went to my doctor who felt a little alarmed also. He realized he should have been checking it. I stopped taking it and am now taking only prednisone. Second: I was recently in Seattle (I live in Portland) which is my home and when I go up there I stop in to donate blood to Dr. Buckner. She was very happy to get a sample while I was flaring to compare to my older sample. She was very generous with her time and discussed different alternative treatments with me. Her preferance is for metho because it has so much documentation. She will be very grateful indeed to all who will donate blood to her!! PlEASE DONATE I mentioned to her that many RPers had been posting that they were flaring this fall, and she said that she had the same experience with her patients and could only guess that it might have something to do with change in climate or ???? Third: It does help a lot to title the posting. I have found that I get so worn out keeping up that by time I get through it all I haven't the energy left to post myself! I'll try Roy's solution for info and stay on digest where I can scan. Love to all, Dagny __________________________________________________________________ Your favorite stores, helpful shopping tools and great gift ideas.
