Guest guest
" My chest cavity swells up, pain in my rib cage, my throat feels like its closing, nose hurts terribly. Since there hasn't been any real damage yet... " Ann, from what I understand about flares/inflammation, each time it happens, it causes damage. That's why it's important to treat the inflammation as soon as possible. I have tracheal involvement and I wish I had been treated aggressively when the first symptoms started. I was still active and what clued me in that something wrong was happening was that I felt like I was choking while on the bike at the gym. I have a pretty high threshold for pain, so I would probably have passed off the pain as something I could get over eventually. Please discuss your symptoms with your doc and don't let him/her make light of the situation. You might be in the beginning stage and you want to control it as quickly as possible. It's all RP. See a pulmonologist. Get a breathing test done. Get a spiral CT scan. Don't compromise your breathing. The breathing difficulties have been the hardest part to deal with for me. I wish you luck. ===== When choosing the lesser of two evils, I always like the one I haven't tried. -- Mae West __________________________________________________
