Guest guest
Hi everyone, does anyone have a recipe for an SCD-legal liver cleanse? I read the recent article on the small intestine (Jon) which talked about liver cleanses, but he seems to use stuff that is not SCD-legal. I'd like to explore that route before considering surgery. Thanks IBS/IBD - 40 years SCD 3 months

Guest guest
Hi , Sorry I don't have a recipe for a liver cleanse but i have heard that it is not safe to do one without doing a parasite cleanse first. Good luck! I hope it works well. - > > Hi everyone, > > does anyone have a recipe for an SCD-legal liver cleanse? Guest guest
I did a " gentle " liver cleanse that my Naturopath gave me. I have to do this from memory, and it was a long time ago, but it was something like this: Olive oil - I want to say 1/4 cup? About 1 Grapefruit (that is what I used because of candida, but there was also grape juice and another option, I think orange) About 1/2 a lemon 2 garlic cloves a dash of cayenne (this is optional, but beneficial) Drink on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning. You may have D within a couple hours. She told me to start with 1/4 a dose because I was so sensitive at the time. Oh, and put off actual breakfast for a couple hours. I am pretty sure that is it. My hubby thought it was disgusting, but I thought it made a good salad dressing. Maybe not the best breakfast, but it works! > > Hi everyone, > > does anyone have a recipe for an SCD-legal liver cleanse? Guest guest
, Here is the liver cleanse my alternative doctor gave me last year. I did not do a parasite cleanse. for five days drink 4 glasses of apple cider a day plus lots of water. On the sixth day eat your normal breakfast and lunch (at noon). Drink water until 4 p.m. a snack can be eaten no later than 2 p.m. Then discontiinue taking food supplements and eating any food because it may inhibit stones from flushing out. At 5 p.m. dissolve 2 tsp. epsom salt in 1/4 cup of warm water and drink it. Follow it with a choice of 1/4 cup of water mixed with 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice or lime juice or 1/2 undiluted grapefruit juice. At 6:30 if you are too hungry to go without food until morning eat an apple or avocado. At 8 p.m. repeat the Epsom salt drink followed by the water and lemon or grapefruit juice. At 9:30 drink 1/2 cup olive oil (if you are 150 lbs or under) or 2/3 cup olive oil (if you are over 150 lbs). Follow it with a choice of 1/4 cup of water mixed with 1/4 cup of fresh lemon or lime juice or 1/2 undiluted grapefruit juice (fresh). Go to bed immediately. Lie on your right side with your right knee pulled close to your chest for at least 30 minutes. (Note: some people have reported slight to moderate nausea after taking olive oil. This should diminish and disappear by the time you go to sleep. If the olive oil induces vomiting, do not take any more. Go to sleep and finish the cleanse the next day.) 7th day: Stay close to the bathroom because you may experience diarrhea-type elimination that may have gallstones. One hour before breakfast repeat above instruction for Epsom salt drink. The rest of the day eat your usual meals with supplements. (This protocol says to eat vegetarian through the 7 days plus there are special supplements recommended but I will be following my SCD diet.) It is advised to repeat this cleanse in the next 2 to 4 weeks to continue the detoxifying action of the liver and gallbladder, especially when more gallstones are suspected. Repeated cleanses can be done in 3 to 4 days rather than taking a whole week, with the last day including the epsom salt and olive oil. Apparently, the best results come with repetition. It should be repeated every 3 to 4 weeks until two consecutive cleanses do not produce any gallstones. Guest guest
Hey everyone - thanks so much! I am determined to avoid gall bladder surgery and suspect that a lot of the problem is actually liver stress, so if this helps my gall bladder as well, then so much the better! I sympathise hugely with everyone that has CD or UC, it sounds horrendous. Having gone to countless doctors/alternative therapists and spent thousands of dollars trying to find out what's wrong, I wish there was a way to get a diagnosis to hang my hat on (the latest opinion is " Leaky Gut " ). Having said that, being told I have to have my gall bladder removed, didn't do it for me, so I thank my lucky stars that I don't have anything serious. Thanks for all the support - the forum is a life-saver! IBS/IBD - 40 years SCD 3 months > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > does anyone have a recipe for an SCD-legal liver cleanse? Guest guest
, Beet juice and coffee enemas are good for liver/gallbladder health. Just google 'em and you'll find lots of information. From everything I've read, avoid the surgery at all costs. I know there are a few people who have posted here that their digestive system has never been the same after having their gallbladder removed. Good luck, Ellen > > Hi everyone, > > does anyone have a recipe for an SCD-legal liver cleanse?
