Margaret, I found a couple of Hobbs posts... If you go to the group

site and in the archives type the post number....They are 32922 and32921. If

that doesn't work, I will send them to you... Just let me know...

A lot of your symptoms sound like fibro, but the pred can do the same

thing... I never know what pain is from what disease. LOl Just a guessing

game I guess.

I would definately have your blood sugar checked and also have your eyes

checked too.

Sorry you are having such a bad time... Hope you are feeling better soon and

your drs. will start listening. (When you find one, let me know) lol

So glad you are asking alot of questions... By reading s posts, it made

me remember a lot of things I had forgotten (brain fog).

Keep asking and we will keep learning.

hugs

Hi everyone. I am trying to keep up with the different emails...it is

hard, but I am enjoying reading.

Thanks for the input on the hand weakness as well as flares. I have been

experiencing flares also, and wondered what was considered a flare and

what wasn't. I notice whenever I get upset my ear starts burning and

itching and will turn red--when compared with my other one, but it does

not swell up. I have also felt something similar with my nose, almost

like some shoved a bunch of pepper up it...it is a painful, wanting to

sneeze, type feeling. And my scalp--my goodness. I don't even want to

wash or brush my hair!!! I also feel the same burning sensation in my

back, and am not sure if it is muscle, spinal column, hip, or

kidney...because it is all down in the lumbar area...Do the flares

continue even when on medication? or does it mean that you aren't on high

enough doses?

Also, I would really appreciate any info you have on the lifting while on

prednisone--I think I will email , also, to see if she still has

that article. I have been very weak and very jittery for over a week now.

It started when my back went out, and I couldn't go up and down the

stairs...then the Vicodin--but that should have worn off now...and I have

just been so weak it is ridiculuous...I don't want to get out of bed...it

also isn't just my hands, but my whole body, and most of the time I can't

do much. My doctor, my PCM, recommended a walker...my rheumy gave me pain

killers and muscle relaxers that I can't take because I am already

jittery enough....

Has anyone experienced blood sugar problems while on prednisone? I have

heard that it can cause diabetes...and wonder if that isn't what I am

feeling. I was told by someone that I should be checking my blood sugar,

but none of my doctors indicated that to me. I told them I was

hypoglycemic, and maybe they figured it wasn't a big deal...I don't know.

All I know is that I can't even get a referral to an eye doctor and I

wear glasses!!!

I do appreciate all the responses...thanks a bunch. I hope everyone is

doing well...take care.

Margaret

When I had my first big flare, I had a very tender scalp, with very bad headaches.

Since that one time I have not experienced it to any significant degree. I am not glad that you have this, but I am glad to know that someone else had this as I never knew if it was connected to RP. Do you have vasculitis? I also have Cryoglobulinemia, a type of vasculitis.

Hope you feel better soon
