I am new to the group but have dealt with RP for about 14 years. Imuran is my drug of choice for containing flares. Marilyn Romagni >> Hi, Marilyn.... Thanks for the response. How much Imuran are you taking, and how long did it take you to notice improvement? My doc said it would take 3 - 6 months. Seems like a long time, but I guess if it works, it's worth it. I'm still on 8 mg. of Pred, with no hopes of lowering it in the near future. I got it down to 5 mg. one time, but immediately started flaring. I guess 8 isn't too bad, but I would like to get it lower. I guess we would all like to be able to kiss Pred goodbye forever, but I'm glad we have it because we need it desperately. Love, T.

Guest guest
Greetings ! I am taking 125 mg of Imuran daily. I was on 100 mg for a long time but started to have too many flares. We tried CellCept this year but after 8 months of all kinds of problems I asked my Rheumy to go back to Imuran. I lose a lot of my hair when I return to this pill. After three to four months I think it will return to normal. Have you had problems with hair loss? My dermy told me to not brush my hair at all. I use the wide tooth end of a comb. Also Daragen shampoo is wonderful to help restore body in the hair. Lets keep in touch......Marilyn
