Hi, well, I wasn't sure if hair loss was going to affect me, but

yesterday when I ran my fingers through my hair and a bunch came out I

was pretty shocked! I have decided not to wear a wig or use Rogaine or

anything like that...in fact, I just went on a binge--a hair cutting

binge...it is really short and I hope that this will help me make the

transition easier. I wasn't aware I would start losing it this soon!

Anyway, I do have a question about hair loss...what hair do you lose? I

mean, eyebrows, eye lashes, etc...will I lose my moustache?? PLEASE!!!! I

didn't want to have to start shaving ;)

I also have a question about occupational therapy...I had written that my

strength was down, pretty low, and my OT is really worried about what she

should and should not do with me--becuase of contraindications...not only

for the prednisone, but also the RP--does anyone know if therapy helps,

or is there just no point? I get exhausted doing just about

anything...even pinching clothes pins!! and I get flushed and start

sweating...Does anyone know if exercise like this is bad? My OT told me

that she didn't know if we could rebuild my strength, but she didn't want

me to deteriorate anymore.

Anyway, things are going ok. I am tired, and the vertigo is really

bad--for those of you doing Qigong, have you been able to do the

dissolving energy meditation standing up? I can't. I get too dizzy and am

unable to finish. It is very frustrating...do I just live with the

vertigo or is there something I can do?

Well, I hope everyone else is doing good. Take care.

Margaret

Hi Margaret,

I have been on Cytoxan for awhile now and I am losing my eyebrows and eyelashes. I have not had any significant hair loss on my head yet. I had a beard from the Prednisone and that is also falling out which I am thankful for. LOLOL I'm not one to wear a wig either. I wear my hair short anyway.

Have you had a Vestibular Study done concerning the Vertigo?

I would suggest this to your Doctor.

Hugs,

Sandy

Dear Sandy, I'm a very hairy person anyway so the pred really makes it grow. Plus the dermatology crap I have I can't use hair removers anymore. Eats up the skin. So I either pluck or shave it off, depends on how much time I have. Its so much fun to be hairy and have RP....When my knuckles start touching the ground and I'm climbing trees I"m going to be very concerned...Sue

Sue,

I had that problem when I went on Cyclosporine. Combined with the pred. I was sprouting hair like crazy. But the Cytoxan is taking care of that. I have lost most of my beard and half of my eyebrows and eyelashes so far. If this keeps up I'm going out for Halloween

as "Uncle Fester". LOLOL
