Guest guest
Hi New Sue, Nice to meet you. You will get used to having many Doctors. It's keeping all the appointments straight that gets tricky for me. LOL Be careful to go down slowly on the Prednisone. Hugs, Sandy Went to the rheumy today. She is so nice. I have a real bad ear infectionso I have to follow up with the ENT. She believes the RP was also in theinner ear & it became infected. The ENT will also be on my list of mustsees. I see the eye guy in 2 weeks for the iritis in the right eye.The Dr. was very encouraging today. She cut back my Pred to 20 in the am & 10 in the eve. & now will start cutting it this Thurs. & Thurs for the next2 weeks until I am off. She said she has only had 1 case of a personneeding a trach. because of the throat being involved. Mine has mainly beenthe eyes, nose & right ear, although my chest has been involved. It alsoexplains the exhaustion & nausea I have had the last few winters. It wasthere but was dismissed as the flu we figured out today. She couldn't giveany figures as far as if it will go away now or hit me big as I cut down thepred, but I hope to remain optimistic. At least I know if the eyes, earsetc start up Ican call & nip it in the bud. When I feel like shit I alsoknow what it is.I feel a lot better knowing I am not alone. Thank you so much for themorale boosting, it really came in handy. It does me good to talk about it.Got to go, just got home a bit ago & hubby is home. Gonna eat dinner. Guest guest
Hi Sue, I am glad you found this group. I joined it about 4 months ago and it has been a life saver for me. I am glad you had a good appt. today with your rhuematologist. It is always helpful to get off on the right foot with your Dr.. I was very interested to read your conversation about your nausea. This has been one of the worst symptoms I have had to deal with. It started very early on with some of my other symptoms 4 years ago. When I went to Boston to see Dr. Trentham he told me he hadn't ever had another patient who complained of severe nausea. Mine has gotten somewhat better since I have started on Methotrexate but it is generally the first sign of a " flare " in me. Finally, after battling it for 4 years, just last week, my Dr. put me on Zofran to treat it. Hopefully, it will help. Again, I am glad you found this group--keeping asking questions--you never know how much one of your questions might help the rest of us!! Take care and get plenty of rest!
