Guest guest
they also call it rhye neck. Charlie was born with this. I breast fed so I dont think it was milk. [ ] Tortocolis We realized in the midst of this journey both kids had this. Every picture shows it and son was sent to the ER on suspicion of meningitis for it (my docs either overreacted or underreacted). Never was it fornally diagnosed and somethimes when running tilts his head lately. I have been wondering about that. I truly think as a baby it was unaddressed milk stuff but now I just do not know. He had a stiff neck forever that is only now leaving.
Guest guest
Our PT warned us that at every gross motor milestone, the tilt may temporarily reappear. I guess it's sorta in the motor memory or something. We haven't seen that yet, but that could be what your son is experiencing. Maybe it's a good sign -- has he made motor improvements lately? in NJ > > We realized in the midst of this journey both kids had this. Guest guest
Well, his gross motor was always good considering. He has made some improvements but I did notice a head tilt with running recently. Hmm... > > > > We realized in the midst of this journey both kids had this. Guest guest
That crayon thing is a big deal and needs addressing. Talk to Janice about the pain of dysgraphia in an older child. Crossing the midline, tlp and NACD are my goals for that and we have been working on it as it is the very thing that got him into EI as Jersey things a nontalking 21 month old (age at time of the eval) is OK. I guess they have to lower milestone standards with each vaccine the governor mandates! > > > > We realized in the midst of this journey both kids had this. Guest guest
-The information that everyone has been providing has been so helpful to me!! I have been saying for about a year now that I felt that my son has Apraxia-his past therapist disagreed and said that it was Autism-so I took him to a specialist who said No this is a child with a severe Language Disorder-Apraxia-I myself being Special Education Teacher for 15 years and works with students with severe physical and emotional disabilites just knew something isn't right. Well, just the other day his new speech therapist said- I really think that he does have Verbal and Oral Apraxia-its about time someone spoke up. My son will be 3 next month-drools like crazy!!! Was born with Tortocolis, has had OT and PT from day one-he was a preemie by almost 7 weeks, still can't say more then-Da Da, MMMM, whose that, what's that and bye bye. He is getting sooooo frustrated that he isn't able to talk-like his 18 month old sister has beening doing for almost 3 monthhs now. We live in Maine so I wasn't sure if anyone had any recommondations of doctors that they have used for Apraxia in the Boston area? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am SO glad that I found this site-what a great help!! -- In , " ilizzy03 " <lizlaw@...> wrote: > > Well, his gross motor was always good considering. Guest guest
1) Drooling: look for allergens. Drooling, coious drooling, left immediately with milk elimination. Speech therapist was reminiscing about that today. If milk is his issue motor planning stuff and frustration, some of it can be from the constant headache. My son was never happy...colicky as a baby, a little better and worse, it fluctuated. That is metabolic...based on allergen fluctuation. 2) In the archives I posted a doc in Boston who loks at metabolic stuff. Please consider him. Knowing it is apraxia is great. Knowing why or at least part of why and maybe how to reduce it can be a literal lifesaver! > > > > > > > > We realized in the midst of this journey both kids had this. > > Every > > > > picture shows it and son was sent to the ER on suspicion of > > > meningitis > > > > for it (my docs either overreacted or underreacted).
