Sherry,

If you want to jump start that plateau start eating more fats and see what

happens. Works for me everytime. eat fried chicken, eggs, bacon, sausage,

butter, mayo.....even some chips!

Maybe it is because donuts also have a ton of fat in them?

You know, with this surgery people will still lose weight even if

they eat a bunch of sugar. What you won't be doing is a) maximizing

your outcome and B) forming new, healthier habits for when your

stomach finally does stretch out to a more reasonable size and weight

loss slows/halts.

I went in to this with an understanding that I was going to have to

make some changes and do some of the work, too, that this surgery

isn't just a cure-all for all my bad eating habits.

Now, I believe that some indulgences should be allowed, but in a

reasonable fashion otherwise I think I would be headed for certain

doom because I can't and won't give *everything* up totally.

As for the donuts, well I guess everyone's mileage will vary. I met

one of Dr. Rabkin's patients in the hospital who at one year out is

being revised for having lost too much weight. H*** yeah, I wish

that would be me. Well, okay, not the revision part... but anyway,

not everyone is going to have the same result.

Amy,

He doesnt eat the donuts just becuz he likes them but becuz he discovered

if he ate them they helped with the weight loss. He eats plenty of protein,

fruit and veggies every day so its not like hes just living on donuts and

things like that. Just that eating them has broken his plateaus and pushed

the weight further down....however, even if they are loaded with fat, they

dont work for me!
