I hope Angie reads this one L. She can really help you here. She has had this done and I think she said the doc used a "baby" scope for the procedure.

I sure hope you are feeling better girl. I was so worried about you Sunday. Please let me know. My prayers are with you!!!!!

PS. sorry I didn't do a snippet this time, but wanted to make sure Angie reads all this post. She can really help here.

Hi all: I saw my pulmonologist Tuesday, and according to my PFTs, there seems to be an airway collapse during expiration. In fact, the print out he showed me looked like it was wound pretty tight. He said he thought it was a large tube -- either trachea or further down, possibly around where it branches out. Anyway, we discussed a bronchoscopy and how it would show all the damage, but he didn't want to do it because he thought there could be a possibility of more collapse. He has never place a stent and he said he would feel better if a doctor with experience in placing stents, did the scope -- just in case.

I remember some posts mentioning the use of a BI-pap or C-pap machine to force the airways open. I think I would much rather goes this route, but I need info to take to my doc. I have the articles by Dr. Herman and the BI-pap is mentioned, but I need more details. I know some of you are familiar with this and might be able to help. I would greatly appreciate it and the sooner the better! Hugs and smiles, L. :>)

L.

is right the doctor used a baby tube for the scope, she even showed me the difference in the tube sizes. I have papers on stents but with moving and all the aren't unpacked yet. I am trying to find the box that the files are in and when I do I will copy it and mail it to you. I know it is scary but please ask your doc about the c pap machine. They wanted to stent me last year and using the c pap has prevented that from happening, I go on the machine whenever my throat starts up. some days I am on it almost all day and there are some days I need it for very short lengths of time. It is worth asking about.

If I can help you in any way please feel free to call me or write whatever. I have been in your shoes.

love, hugs and hope
