I got tears in my eyes just reading this. So good to see you post! I miss you and was thinking of you today. That is so weird. and I were conspiring to start posting those who haven't posted in awhile to see if they are all okay. Yes we do worry about you all. I think we must be two of the biggest worry warts I know.

If your breathing is getting worse how does the Dr. know whether or not it isn't related to RP. Darn those Dr.'s anyway. I will be sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

Hi ruthann, i haven't met you before, but my name is veronica i am 27. I started have symptoms of rp at the age of 23. This was Oct 97, diagnosed Jan 98 with rp. From then on it was like my health went down hill. I changed doctors completely after almost losing my battle in Jan 99. They doctors that i had, literally knew nothing about RP. My Rhuematologist who diagnosed me in 2 weekks said this disease is so rare their is hardly any info out there about it. He told me this. By me being so young and i'd never been sick before it really didn't scare me. I didn't know how sick i could get or how serious this disease was. Now that i am older and look back i wish i would have done more to prevent my illness from getting to this stage.

I was at a local hospital for 1 week the transfered to Zale Lipshy. These doctors saved my life. They didn't reccommend me to return to my old doctors. They didn't know that much more about this disease than my other doctors, but they knew enough to know that if you do not treat this disease aggressively that it could be fatal.

I have a Trach and a stented left main bronch. I feel and am doing well. I know what you are going through. My breathing had gotten so bad i didn't have to walk very far and i was completely out of breath.

Some doctors think just because they have gone to school for so many years they think they know everything. It's like the feeling you get from them is, why are you trying to tell me my job. Or excuse me i am smarter than you. It's ridiculous.

I was reading in the Readers digest, and there was an article on how poor healther care is and how it is getting worse. This scares me, knowing i could end up in the hospital easily with this disease. They said if you go to the hospital you need to have a family member or someone there at your side.

You will get to feeling better. This is as slow and gradual disease with recovery, hang in there. Take care

Dear , there were a couple of people last week who had major questions about stents. Its such a shame that we can't get it together for meds and medical questions. Hi Judy, i do have access to good doctors in Dallas at UTSW Medical center. I was at Zale Lipshy recovering in 99'. I have a surgeon here in Dallas where i am at who placed my first stent in. Well scar tissues completely covered that stent and this doctor in San Diego knows a little bit more about stents and what works and what does. So that is why my Surgeon and Pulmonary doctor sent me to him just to get my stent replaced. He has never had to re-cut my old cuts to replace my stents. It's really neat and "hi tech stuff" ha ha. Don't worry about me i am doing just fine. I will be 28 this December. This will be my 5th year of having this disease. I feel better now than what i did 3 years ago before i started seeing My new doctors in Dallas.

ready for another 2 month battle like my last on in the hospital.

I am now able to sit down and take a break and can get on my computer and

check my mail and respond to it. For those of you who have not had

any severe attacks, this disease can take a lot of energy out of you.

I guess that's what i was going through. I was literally tired.

I wasn't able to check my mail. There were others in the group who

i have talked to about my stent as well. My stent was done in an

emergency, i didn't have a choice on if I wanted to try a c-pap or have

the stent. I have just learned about the stent fully this past couple

of months my self. I don't really know how i would have really been

of any help to any one really. Now i know a little bit more about

them and if any one wants more info about them i can give you the number

to my doctor in San Diego and i'm sure he or his is nurse will gladly talk

to you. I hope no one was offended that they didn't get the info

they thought i could give them about my stent. My stent is in my

Left main Bronchial. As you all know this disease can damage any

part of the air way passages. I guess whatever stent you get it would

totally depend on where the damage is done. I will let you all go.

I will be going back out of town this week or mabybe next week. I

will be going on no mail for a while. Take care

Dear , there were

a couple of people last week who had major questions about stents. Its

such a shame that we can't get it together for meds and medical questions.

A person can't keep track of everyvbody but we really need to get our act

together. These were people who could have really needed your advise

about stents. Please people don't give up, we're here to help....Sue
