Guest guest
Ann, My ribs flare in those places also. When I get the severe pain along my breast bone it is my Costochondritis flaring. What are you on besides the Pred.? Sandy Thanks Sandy, My ribs hurt in the lower part but its not in the center of my chest.Plus on the side by my breast. I thought it was a gland by the breast. but when I was in for a check up with the Gyn. he checked it and said no it was the ribs. And the rheumy said if it was Rp related it would be in the center of my chest. Go figure. He wants me to drop my pred. down 2.5 mg every 5 days. Ann, I get rib flares and they can occur anywhere, although I've noticed my lower ribcage is the most painful. I'm on 30 mg. of Pred. and I still flare. My Rheumy leaves it up to me to decide when to raise my Pred. dose. Sandy Anyone with rib flares could you tell me where the pain is?My ribs hurt like crazy. My rheumy has me on 20mg. of prednisone and he saysthat is a high enough dose to stop inflammation. If it is why is my rightear flaring? It has been burning since he dropped my dose from 30mg.I need some advice.AnnDISCLAIMER!!WE ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, THEREFORE ANY INFORMATION THAT IS RECEIVED HERE IS FROM EXPERIENCE ONLY. Sandy Sandy, I'm just on pred for the RP. I take prinival for my blood pressure. Synthroid for my thyroid, Singulair & theophyllin for asthma. If it were me, I wouldn't drop the dose until the flare is gone... I personally think I would up the dose back to where you felt good... My dr. lets me adjust my pred as needed. I'd keep after him until he understands that you are in PAIN!! Damn drs anyway. Know I'm thinking of you and hope this flare goes away soon. hugs
