Guest guest
Ann This is only my opinion remember... You need to be on a higher dose of Pred. if the ears are still hurting. As for the ribs that is the same. Each of us is so different and some could get by with lower doses but there are some that have to go to the much higher doses of pred. I will be sending good thoughts and prayers your way that all will stop hurting soon! I would call my dr. back and let him know that you are still hurting. Remember where there is inflammation there is damage being done. Lots of Love Glenda Rib Flares. Anyone with rib flares could you tell me where the pain is?My ribs hurt like crazy. My rheumy has me on 20mg. of prednisone and he saysthat is a high enough dose to stop inflammation. If it is why is my rightear flaring? It has been burning since he dropped my dose from 30mg.I need some advice.Ann ---Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).Version: 6.0.282 / Virus Database: 150 - Release Date: 9/25/2001

Guest guest
Ann, Sorry I am sitting here laughing. Not at you at all I was just thinking that it would be nice if we all fit into the mold of where to flare and not to flare. I have flared in upper and lower ribs and everywhere in between it seems. My first rib flare was right where my breast is and I thought I had cancer. It was this huge lump. Dr. checked it and it was along there rib. so guess what it was RP! Oh boy! Take care. Guest guest
Thanks Glenda for the reply. I was just on the phone with the rheumy this afternoon. I was getting so upset. I told him my ears were still flaring. That's when he said 20mg of pred. was a high enough dose to stop any inflammation. And that my ribs were hurting in the wrong place. That's the reason I was wondering where exactly the ribs were suppose to hurt in relation to RP. Thanks, Ann -----Original Message-----From: Glenda Sent: Thursday, October 25, 2001 3:28 PMTo: Rpolychondritis Subject: Re: Rib Flares-Ann Ann This is only my opinion remember... Guest guest
Hi Glenda and all, Lucy here, I guess I am one of those who can get by on a low dose. It took over a year or more to realize that as little as 50 MG of Dapsone to control my RP. I use Vioxx for Osteoarthritis, X-Strength Tylenol for other pain associated with my Fibromyalgia, Klippel-Feil Syndrome, Sleep with a C-Pap machine for my Sleep Apnea, (Oh, I forgot about the Diabetes caused by the Prednisone last year, I take one Glucaphage per day for that), and I take Lasix for general principles as well and can't leave out the Klor-Con for the potassium the Lasix removes from my body. Oh, I left out Aciphex for Reflux that is really a wonderful drug. Last but not least, there is my Paxil, now that one is suppose to help me forget that I have a reason to have to take all of those medications! Honestly, I am very fortunate in not having to take the more powerful drugs which sound like would be really hard on one's body to take for any extended period of time. You see, each and every one of us have so many different things going on in our own individual lives, that it is hard to imagine how anything else could be added to "our Plates". Love and Prayers, Lucy (Call me the "druggie"?) Rib Flares. Anyone with rib flares could you tell me where the pain is?My ribs hurt like crazy.
