Amber - sometimes high doses are necessary, although

usually for a relatively short periodof time. Tell

Carol to keep a note of unusual side effects and how

she feels, as it is so easy to forget things when you

speak to the doctor. If she is any doubt atall,

especially about breathing, she should call him. When

I was first ill I was in hospital on enormous doses of

prednisone to control the breathing; although RP

wasn't actually diagnosed for another 10years after

that, I am sure that was the cause. Now I am much

more stable and don't have severe breathing

difficulties even at night. Just hang in there Carol,

things will improve, God willing. They may not get

perfect butI think breathing problems are the worst!!!
