Hi all!

Went to see the rheumy yesterday and he confirmed the diagnosis. He did a

chest x-ray and saw some calcification in my trachea. Has anyone else had

this? The Dr. didn't seem to think it was a terrible thing... He doesn't

want to put me on Pred until I see the pulminologist (sp?). He has ordered

an echocardiagram and will order a CT scan if the lung doctor thinks my

" asthma " is really RP. My question is this: Do you guys always have

swelling with a flare? My nose and trachea ache terribly, but do not swell.

And as Susiecue said, sometimes the end of my nose will tingle. The rheumy

was saying that he would give me pred if I was flaring and I kept saying

that it really, really hurts. I guess he thought if it wasn't swollen, it

wasn't flaring. Do the places that have flared still hurt after the flare

is over? I have a constant ache in my throat! He was also saying that

throat pain is not a common symptom. Does anyone else have throat pain?

Not just tenderness when touched, but real pain. My ear did swell when it

was flaring, but so far my nose and trachea just hurt (as well as my rib

cage...) Thanks in advance for your help, guys!

Kathleen

p.s. the jokes you guys tell put a smile on my face everyday; thanks!
