Guest guest
Would welcome any thoughts anyone may have on a new problem for Ann. She started with a cold at the weekend and soon had coughing bouts as she had difficulties clearing her narrowed trachea. She then had soreness on her back around her ribs which was at its worst when she coughed. because of the risk to her breathing we called the doctor ; he decided she had some possible infection in the lung and prescribed antibiotics. 3 days on and Ann generally feels better but is in very considerable pain when she coughs except this time it is at the front of her stomach. Very baffling; Ann does not feel she is flaring and incidentally had a regular blood test on Friday which looks normal. It could just be a muscular strain because of the coughing but she has no pain from any other movements. she is eating well and has no stomach upsets. doctors are just prescribing pain killers and waiting.thought of kidney problem but why has it moved ? Any other suggestions ? All quiet on my prostate cancer front. The bone scan and MR showed no signs of any spread. I have started on the hormone blockers and await their impact. Am reading lots of interesting ideas on diet, exercise , relaxation and vitamin supplements but difficult to evaluate the evidence for the effectiveness of any . to end on a cheerful note. we had a great week in Rome last week. walked miles, saw hundreds of Roman remains ( 2000 + years old ), ate good food, saw the Pope and the Sistine chapel and listened toVerdi's requiem Highly recommended outside the summer tourist season seasons greetings to you all Chester England IMPORTANT NOTICE: This email is confidential, may be legally privileged, and is for the intended recipient only. Guest guest
what it sounds like just from what I am reading, is that the infection she had bruised her muscles near her ribs and upper stomach. It should improve in time and I believe it is called pleurisy which can be real painful especially when you cough let alone breathe deeply. What might help is if you get a thick sock, fill it with real rice not the minute stuff, tie a knot at the opened end and put it in the microwave for 3 minutes. then sit it on her where it hurts not only will it help, but it uses heated moisture and you can use it forever just by reheating and it stays warm for about one hour, if it gets too hot cut down on the time or put a hand towel between the rice sock and her. Hope this helps. BJ Any suggestions ? Would welcome any thoughts anyone may have on a new problem for Ann.
