Updates on the RP Foundation, end of 2001

I would like to take a few minutes to update all of you as to what the RP

Foundation has accomplished this year. I believe for our first year, we have

done a wonderful job.

I have to start with the most important thing that we have accomplisthed this

year, getting our tax exempt status.

Luanne, our Secretary really out did herself this year. She handled ALL the

IRS paper work for us to get our tax exempt status. Thank you, Thank you,

Thank you LU!!! This was the major objective for this year and we can't

thank you enough!

Lu also has been working with Dr. Buckner. Lu has sent her a list of

interested members who want to join in her research. She has also enlisted

the help of Dr. Buckner for our Brochures.

We have a new web site, thanks to Roy on, the Vice President of the

Foundation. Boy does it ever look great. The site is at:

polychondritis.org. Please go check it out... We are still in the process of

getting it all set up but you can see what a wonderful job Roy has done.

Thank you Roy.. You are always there for us.

Heidi, our treasurer is handling all the money very well... We have to

threaten her to let go of that money. LOL Your money couldn't be in better

hands... Thank you Heidi for your great money management abilities and for

keeping us within our budget. And Thank you for keeping the support group

updated on all the members. What a gem we have here.

Glenda, our PR Chairperson is working on Brochures and they should be out

soon. What a lot of hard work she has put in to them. Can't wait for all of

you to see them and start handing them out to drs. If anyone knows of a

Printer (or is married to one) LOL, please let us know. Thank you Glenda..

don't know how you do what you do and work too. You always find time for

everyone.

I have been kept busy with the Membership. But I wouldn't mind being busier.

LOL Keep those donations coming. I will be sending out reminders a month

before your yearly donation are due. Thanks to all who have already sent

theirs. We are also taking donations from friends and family so put the word

out..

We have a newsletter going out. There will be another issue after the first

of the year. Mike Stephani is Chairing the newsletter committee. A big

thanks to Mike. If there is anything that you wish to see printed in the

newsletter, just let us know and we will try to get the information printed

in it..We are always open to suggestions from you.

We also have a new research chairperson, Sue Lovett. Sue will be sending

items to Mike for the newsletter and also researching Rp for the Foundation.

Thank you Sue for all your help.

We will be starting on our fundraising soon. If anyone is interested in

volunteering for any position, please let Barbara Angerhofer know.. She is

our Volunteer Coordinator. You may e mail her at : angerhob@...

Thanks Barbara for handling this for us. Hope your list is so long that you

need more assistants.

We were able to send a donation to Dr. Jane Buckner for her research in RP.

This we are very proud of and wouldn't have been able to do it without all of

YOUR contributions. A real BIG thank you to all the Foundation members.

Hopefully this will help Dr. Buckner to find a cause and a CURE someday for

RP.

We have had some contributions to the Foundation for Christmas and this has

really helped. Anyone wanting to do the same, please feel free. Or you may

ask a friend or relative to make a donation instead of giving you a present.

Finally I want to send a BIG THANK YOU to Woods and Angie Cenneno, our

Co- Presidents. They over see all of us and if you think that is an easy

job.....well think again. LOL They have to lead us in the right direction and

make sure everything is done correctly. They also started the support group

and got this dream of a Foundation to come true.

As you can see, there has been alot going on behind the scenes. We have tried

our best to make a success of the RP Foundation and I think we have done a

pretty good job for only being a year old. I foresee a great future for the

Foundation and I must thank all of you again for making this possible. We

will try to keep you up dated on any new developments as soon as they happen.

an even greater year.
