Welcome to the greatest group of people that you will ever get the chance to meet! Sorry that you have RP but glad you found us.

Ask all the questions that you would like. Someone will answer you or send you in the appropriate direction. They are the greatest.

Now I will tell you what I know about what you have asked and what each of us tells you is not law it is only our own opinions.

I have taken 2mg of Folic acid before on a daily basis and also taken a multi-vitamin and didn't over dose. Mine was taken due to sores in my mouth, but I have heard others on the metho take the folic acid too.

Now as far as a Dr. most of us go to a rhuemy. I think it really doesn't matter what type of Dr. you go to as long as they are knowledgeable about RP or are willing to learn about it. Most important is that they are doing what is best for you. It sounds like your Dr. is heading in the right direction.
