Ann, You can still get your records... Usually they are transcribed within a

week. ( I was a transcriptionist for a few years). Just find out how long it

usually takes and then call and ask them to make copies for you... and then

pick them up... Most offices are co operative... If your dr knows that you

have your own medical files he will be glad to keep yours updated...

When I see a specialist or a different dr I always ask for them to send me a

copy of their report when they send on to my PCP... In most cases they will,

the ones who haven't have received a polite call from me asking for them to

send it again. LOL If all else fails your PCP will make you a copy of the

report..

hugs

Hi I am Marilyn Romagni from Savannah GA

Your medical records are your own personal records and have to be released to

you whenever you request. If your doc's comments are transcribed later you

still have every right to them. Just ask. Hope this helps. MR

Hi Ann,

My doctor does this too, but I always remind her that I want a copy of the report and she writes it down and mails me a copy after it's written up.

Just ask her and after that, remind him/her everytime that you do get a copy for your own records.

Ann, I call my rheumy about a week after I have had

tests, then I ask him to fax me copies for other docs

and travelling, he should not have a problem with

this, although sometimes they forget. If so, call

again!! Lots of love, Liz
