Guest guest
you can definitely freeze the whites. i like to freeze them in ice cube trays once frozen place in a bag. just defrost as many as you need- one white=one cube. they work great for meringues:p thaw in fridge or under cold running water. frozen they are good for 6 months. fridge shelf life for whites is 4-10 days/smells ok. yolks are only 4-5 days fridge/ 4 months freezer but you have to beat in some salt before freezing. > > If you split eggs, use the yolks, etc. how long > will the separated whites last in the fridge? > > Also, can you freeze them to keep them > longer? > > Mara >

Guest guest
Also, can you freeze them to keep themlonger? I've started freezing the whites in ice cube trays, then popping them out and storing them in a baggie. Luckily I have a friend who can use egg whites on occasion since I have so many extras these days!! =D Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)Azathioprine 50 mg 1x per dayPrednisone 40 mg 1x per day

Guest guest
just defrost as many as you need- one white=one cube. For me, one egg white works out to be two cubes. I must have some small ice cube trays! (or big eggs) Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)Azathioprine 50 mg 1x per dayPrednisone 40 mg 1x per day
