Guest guest
Got a letter today from my rheumy & they are dropping our insurance as of Jan. 1. Woudln't you know it. Just get diagnosed, am doing pretty well & bomm the bottom drops out. Have a call into my PCP. The gal at the phone center told me Oh we have a rheumatologist here. This is one thing I need to discuss with my Dr. This current rheumy has one other RP patient. We don't have an option to switch insurance, but they also said in the letter they would work with us if we want to pay out of our pocket. LIke I can really afford that. So now I'll see what other options there are. I will see the Rheumy on Thurs. so maybe between her & my PCP they can come up with something. This group called Advocate came along & took over a bunch of hospitals here in IL. That's how I lost my Internist that we had for 15 years. They wanted him to take a 30% pay cut. Needless to say he went on his own. He is too far to follow with, but my new one trained under him & has his bedside manner. She also has no problem giving me referrals for all the other Docs I see which is very important. This is the second group of Docs that I have that has left. My gastroenterologist also left but he didn't drop our insurance, so I can still see him. I am having a test next Thurs. to measure the amount of acid being produced in my esophagous, since I am having the burning constantly. They will put a tube through my nose for 24 hours & it will let them know what is going on. So sorry to hear about your daughter Ann. Nothing worse than seeing one of your children with a serious problem. My oldest daughter lost a tube & ovary 10 years ago at 23 & almost lost her life due to the idiot Dr. that was on call. She is 33 & has a 4 year old son now but seeing her so deathly ill was really a scare. You are both in my prayers. Susiecue

Guest guest
Susiecue, I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago. Lost all my wonderful drs. It'sl like losing part of your family. Well, now I'm kind of okay with my PCP, but all the specialists are dropping my insurance now because they don't pay enough. Go figure. Pretty soon we will be treating ourselves. LOL Good luck and hope everything works out. hugs << Got a letter today from my rheumy & they are dropping our insurance as of Jan. 1. Woudln't you know it.
