Sharon,

With all the goings on I forgot to post about my sister! Ooops!!! I want to thank you all for the answered prayers and good thoughts. My sister had peripheral heart disease which effected the artery to her legs. They were able to do the surgery and correct the problem. After the surgery was completed the Dr. advised us that this surgery was not normally done. Most people who have the blockage that she had usually don't have legs left to route the blood to! God has really been on her side even when she didn't feel like he was! She is doing so well that on her one month check up after the surgery she doesn't need to go back and see him for another month! Dr. is so please with her progress! She was even able to go grocery shopping on her own! That seems like little but before she could hardly walk from the bedroom to the bathroom.

Shae is doing great! She is loving school! I hope she does better this year or I may end up pulling her out and home schooling her. She seems to be doing fine so far so we will have to see. She is a real pill sometimes.

As far as work goes no they have not upped the Security force as of yet. On Tuesday and Wednesday they did have to close down the crews out in the woods, due to no planes for firewatches after hours.

Take care and know I think of you often!

Lots of Love

Glenda

Hi Glenda, I know, I know! I just haven't been

posting at all lately. Put myself on no mail for a

week while I tried to unsubscribe to about a zillion

e-mails that I get and don't want!

I'm doing great, other than this " cement fatigue " that

seems to be unending. Being on Enbrel has been

working out for me in a big way. I am cutting my pred

again tomorrow, and I will be on only 3 mg per day.

YAHOO! I can hardly believe that I am able to cut

without having my ears blow off my head.

Glenda, your doctors are being the poops, not you.

When I went to my PCP two weeks ago, the first thing

he said was that because I was immune-suppressed I HAD

to have a flu shot. Sorry they are giving you such a

hard time. I agree with Kathy about the blood

pressure--it could very well be a reaction to being in

the doctors office. Mine is always higher at my PCP's

than it is at Dr. H's, simply because I am a bit tense

when I go to the PCP. How high was it? Do you ever

check it in the store? If so, how is it then? Hope

you get everything resolved with your doc's.

Yes, it would be so good to get together with Dagny

again, wouldn't it???

Take care, and I will try to post a bit more often.

Love, Sharon

Sharon,

So glad that you are okay. Wow and I am so glad that you are able to go down so low on the pred! That is almost amazing especially for you. Your meds must finally be working. You have been flaring for so long it is about time.

Sorry you are having such bad fatigue. I liked what you called it anyway. It sort of fits I tell you that is how I felt when I was first diagnosed and put on the imuran.

I wish I could have stayed with Dr. H but didn't click with him at all. I think I just got spoiled by Dr. B and Dr. H never had a chance. Dr. H. took over the practice from Dr. B. and I sure tried to stick it out with him. I am glad that he is doing good with you! You sure deserve it.

Take care and post when you can! I know you are plenty busy! Just know I am here if you ever need me! Just a phone call and a few minutes away!

Lots of Love

Glenda

Sharon, I'm so glad to hear that the Embrel is working for you... AND great

news about the low dose of pred. Had you tried the other stuff... metho,

imuran, etc before you went on it? I know you probably told us already, but

my memory is the pits. lOL They want to put me on Plaquenil next I think...

Will go to rheumy at Stanford on the 19th and see what they say.

Hope you had a great weekend. I'm trying to catch up.... I'm leaving to go

shopping with in a minute... to the rest of you... I will try to

answer your posts tonight or tomorrow. Haven't forgotten you...

Lots of hugs to all

Hi , Yes I was on lots of the other meds

before Enbrel. Sulfasalazine, Plaquenil, MTX, and am

still on Azathioprine (Imuran), along with Arava.

Right now, I am very thankful for Enbrel as the

difference has been amazing. For the first time in

almost two years I am not constantly aware of my ears.

I am one of the ones who develops bleeding lesions on

my ears when I flare. To not have that constant pain

is almost unbelievable.

How was the visit to the culinary school? Are you

doing any better? If I remember right you were

flaring right before the visit to the school. Take

care of yourself!

Love, Sharon

Hi again Glenda,

I am almost afraid to say anything about being so low

on prednisone. Afraid to jinx things! Silly me!

Too bad you didn't click with Dr. H! I think he is

wonderful, smart, caring and compassionate and as

funny as can be. Maybe that is why we have clicked so

well! Our senses of humor really seemed to mesh. He

has helped me so much I can't even begin to tell you!

Your blood pressure readings are not good, Glenda. I

know you know that. Mine got as high as 160/100 when

I was on 20 mg of pred, but have since come back down.

I'm still on HCTZ but that is all I take for it.

I've always had really low readings, so am hoping that

it comes all the way back down to where it was. I

don't get it though....my mom always had really low

readings and she had a CVA (bleeding into her brain, a

stroke). My dad had horrible blood pressure and never

had anything like that. Go figure!

Hope you have a good week and DO NOT GET SHINGLES.

That is a horrible thing to have. OUCH!

Love, Sharon
