I did buy plenty of paper towels, but not for the drool....they are for the other end. We are in the process of paper training for this first few weeks, then we'll move it to outdoors after she has a shot or two. Have a wonderful week. Guest guest
Sharon I'm trying to figure out how our Florida neighbours are doing since Frances. Have you noticed any of them on line since last weekend? I haven't, and just wondered how you are all fairing? Debby Re: Australia contacts? > Hi Alison! > > Welcome aboard! Guest guest
Hi Debby- Frances was a walk in the park for us in Central FL, compared to Charley. Charley had hit us hard so I think all the trees that COULD have fallen, fell...and all the roofs that COULD have come undone, did. Frances made some things worse (like made bigger holes in roofs, more water damage in homes, etc)...but the whereas the eye of Charley went right through Central FL (ahem...right over my HOUSE, according to maps I've seen!), Frances stayed closer to the Atlantic coast and by the time she was crossing the state, she had lost a lot of her wind (literally and figuratively). A lot of counties in eastern FL got hit badly...MANY places still don't have electricity, clean running water, etc. But except for lasting SUCH a long time (2 DAYS, she was so SLOW!), we weathered the storm fine. Thanks for asking! -Sharon- Just an RSS kid who grew up > > > Hi there > > > I am very new to this - my 14 mth old son Charlie was diagnosed > > with > > > RSS a few weeks ago. Guest guest
Hi Pat- Nah, Ivan isn't supposed to hit us at all...looks like the Panhandle is going to have its hands full, though. And not that I wish a hurricane on anyone, because it's NOT a fun experience, but it sure is nice to NOT be the ones having to " hunker down, " for a change <G>. -Sharon- Just an RSS kid who grew up > Hi sharon, > > Glad to here that you all came through fine. Guest guest
Hi Debby, I just an e-mail from my uncle in Fla. He lives in Delray Beach, next to West Palm Beach. Just a little south of the center of France. He just got his power back on. It was off for 9 days. He told me that the Fla. power company plans to have 95% of the power restored by the 19th. I also have a few pictures of trees and power lines that were blown down. Looks like a real mess. No one killed and only a few minor injuries reported. Guest guest
I live on the East side of Florida - Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale). Frances did a lot of damage in my area, but we did not have the flooding that they feared would happen. We had lots of trees down (including one HUGE tree in a nearby park), some fallen traffic lights, and no electricity for a long time in pocket areas. I was only out of power for 30 hours, but there are some people who still do not have power in Broward, Palm Beach, & St. Lucie counties. I happen to live about 2 miles away from the most dangerous intersection in the U.S. as far as accidents & deaths go, and the traffic light there was gone for a week (the traffic light fell). They had cops their 24/7 directing traffic & blocked the intersection with barricades so nobody could make a left turn. Needless to say, the ordinarily horrible traffic at that intersection was horrendous. Many stores here still do not have water and other hurricane supplies, so when we were preparing for Ivan we could not get this stuff again. Also, last week all the gas stations near my house were out of gas & this was well in advance in preparing for Ivan, which luckily spared us. Things could have been much worse with Frances than they were if it hadn't lost strength just before it hit Florida as the eye was extremely large. We actually were very lucky!
