Cathy,

One of the top stent docs in the country is at the Cleveland Clinic. I saw my pulmonologist at the clinic last week and he told me if I develop breathing problems and need a stent this doc is the one to see.

I will be praying for you tomorrow and hoping all goes well.

Hugs,

Sandy

Good morning all. Finally had Dad's appointment yesterday with the Rheumatologist. As soon as Dad said it was causing breathing problems the guy said that was not good. The man said he had 3 patients with RP before. He took a pretty good history, physical, blood and urine. He wants to get a test that tells breathing capacity. He wants to see the results of the tests and decide were we go from there. I was speaking up the whole time (thanks to all of you). I told him if he found someone to scope Dad they needed to use children's instruments. He started talking about stents and asked me if I know who was doing them! He is going to look around and see if he can find someone here but he doesn't think so or he thinks he would have heard. From what I have read I think the Cleveland Clinic is closest to us...Cincinnati. Any others? I feel like we got a start but we were both a little depressed that the man didn't say I have just the thing for you. In closing I will ask for your prayers for myself. I am having my thyroid removed tomorrow and a biopsy. I wasn't too excited about it until my doc said I had to stay in intensive care for 24 hours and have drains in my neck. Sounds yucky. I will be going to digest and pick up later. Thanks for all of your good advice. At least I walked into the appointment with a goal in mind. Cathy D.
