Bananas- how do you know they're ripe enough

What is the gauge for knowing when a banana is ripe enough. I've read there is

no green on the banana and it has to have brown spots, but how many? I'm

probably being paranoid, but I don't know if the bananas I've been eating are

ripe enough. Does anyone perhaps have a picture of a ripe enough banana?
