Hi Dagny,

My rheumy had me take my MTX in the evening with

dinner. I didn't know what to expect, so I ate a very

light meal with it. He also had me take Folic Acid.

I started on three tablets on MTX and worked up to 8.

MTX really helped me! Takes a while to start working

but it was worth the wait. Unfortunately after

several months I had to quit taking it. We will hope

that you don't have any bad side effects though.

So glad that you are able to have such a good doctor.

If you are even down our way again, please give me a

call. I'd love to see you again.

Love, Sharon

Dagney,

I am glad things went well with Dr. Buckner!! Could you please explain in

more detail what it was that Dr. Buckner did that was so different!! What

kind of tests, if not Blood tests?? I take methotrexate every Friday

morning-- around 5:30A.M. The only thing I have before I take it is Coffee.

Sometimes I have no problems at all with it and sometimes I have nausea and

increased fatigue with it. By taking it so early-- I am usually okay as far

as the nausea until about 2:00 in the afternoon-- almost time to leave work.

I also take it of a Friday in the event that I do have problems and that

way, I have the weekend to recover. I am sure that others can offer you

more advice than I can because I have had very few problems with it. I just

pop 12 of them in mouth every Friday and go on about my day. Good luck with

it!

Dagny, so glad that you got to see Dr. B. She sounds absolutlely wonderful.

When I was on metho, I found that if I took it at night, either with dinner

or later with a snack, I wasn't so nauseated the next day. I also took folic

acid with it. 1mg.

I was taking mine on Fridays, but usually got sick for the weekend.. Since

I'm not working I changed it to Sunday so I wouldn't wreck the weekend. LOL

I took it for a year and had to stop... Hope it works as well for you as it

does the others. A headache came with the metho for me, but went away once

my body was adjusted to it.

Good luck... ! So good to hear from you. Please keep us posted..
