Hi Glenda,

I sure hope your doctor is right. He is probably saying this on what little info he has available to him. I have also read something about this, but can't remember where.

Why do you say you are still having damage done to your cartilage? Did you tell him about this?

You might have flares later on, but hopefully he will up your meds or give you other meds to help calm down the flare. I sure hope his statement doesn't mean he doesn't think you will need further treatment, even in a flare. If so, you need a new Rheumy too.

There is a lady in the autoimmune group that is very knowledgeable and I will ask her about what your doctor said about autoimmune people not having the flu shot. I have always been told to get it yearly. Go figure.

As for your BP, join the crowd my friend. LOL I have been on diazide for many years and also on Verapamil. I have tried many many BP meds in the past too. I know it is discouraging to have yet another pill to take, but if it saves your life, it's worth it. Just try not to let it get you down. OK? It is something you can live with, believe me. Now we have yet another thing in common my friend. LOL

Can you find a new PCP Glenda? It really sounds like the one you have is not very compassionate to your problems, nor is his nurse, so you should really consider trying to find a new one and soon.

I'm so sorry you have been going through all of this alone. You should have written us weeks ago. Don't ever do that again. We are here to help if we can and if not, to offer you a nice shoulder to cry on or a set of arms to hug you. We love you my friend. Don't ever forget that Glenda.

.. He said that I would probably not get any worse with the RP than I am now. He said that I have had it for so long that if I was going to have major problems I would have already. I just sat there and looked like a dork.
