Hi Everybody.....

After a year and a half of trying one more time to lose weight on my

own using the 1200 calorie a day eating plan, I made the decision to

proceed with the surgery and I was given a date today. I will be

having my surgery on Pearl Harbor day, December 7, 2005. I'm happy

to say that Doctor Baggs thinks he will be able to do LAP on me now

that I've lost a considerable amount of weight along with my body fat

being redistributed since I first saw him in October of 2004.

I know I haven't been posting much lately but I read all the messages

everyday and I have been following everyone's progress. I have to

say that the only concern I have about having the procedure is my

lack of support at home so I'm certain that I will become a regular

poster again very soon because I know I can count on getting support

here.

One thing for sure, the things I have learned here and in support

groups made it a lot easier to make this decision so I thank you all

for that.

Regards,

Gordy

Congrats Gordy.

Did I meet you a few weeks back with my friend in Richmond? She met you at the ez Support Group? If so, well hello again and congrats on your decision. I will be following closely behind on December 12th.

Congratulations Gordy!!

It took me a while to finally make the decision about having surgery

but I know this is one of the best things I have ever done for

myself. You won't regret your decision.

Congrats on your decision Gordy, and best of luck to

you! I prepared for two years for my surgery, and I

have to say, NOTHING prepares you for the post op

experience. It's still a learning curve. So just

know that we will continue to be here for you.

Gordy, congrats on your big decision and the fact you got your date. You are right about the great support you get here. It's too bad you don't have the support at home you need, but you know where we are... take it easy, and Happy Thanksgiving... I guess you have one more thing to be thankful for now.. :)

Gordy,

I am so happy for you that you finally made a decision one way or the other.

December 7th is so close. You definitely have support here. I have to say I

didnt have support at home at the beginning either but once my husband saw the

weight come off of me and saw me come out of my shell he has been very happy. He

had always told me he wouldnt enjoy me thin, but I think what he was trying to

say was he was thankful for my fat shield. You will be in my prayers.
