Guest guest
Well this is a very different Thanksgiving than last year. I was in surgery this time last year. And I have had a wonderful first year. Last year this time I weighed 300 pounds and today I am down to 180. I am down 165 since my acceptance in June of 2004. I had a few problems one with low potassium, I had to drink some very vile liquid, I had tow endoscopy from a stricture and an ulcer. And ask me if I would do it again and I would answer "yes, in a heart beat". My life is so different from the one I used to live, I ish dance and ride my bike to work and I'm on the go almost every night. I came home from the hospital on Thanksgiving Day, and for the people who are worried about having the surgery before the holidays don't fret, you won't feel like eating anyway. Just wait till next year, sure I can't pig out, but you want to know something I don't even want to or think about it. I can eat what I can eat and I will be satisfied with that. I'm just happy to be alive and half the size I used to be, that is the greatest of all Thanksgivings. Laurianne surgery date 11/23/04 300/180 Fremont, Dr. Dutta Yahoo! Guest guest
What a great Thanksgiving gift you gave yourself! Having just been accepted, I'm hoping that by this time next year I'll be post-surgery and partway to goal myself. Congratulations!
