First of all I would like to wish all of your a Happy Thanksgiving.

Well, it has been 2 1/2 weeks since my surgery and I am getting a bit

anxious. I had Lap done and I am still having pain where the biggest

incision was. As I said in my previous posts I had to go back into

emergency because of a hematoma. It is hard for me to stand after

sitting in my recliner. I cannot bend over at all. I am trying to

get all the protein in each day. I take ProComplex from GNC but it

is hard. I am getting in about 64 ounces of water and have been

following the diet to the T. But honestly the cream of wheat and

creamed soups are getting old. Has anyone else been having pain? I

would like to start walking but cannot.

I would also like to get my hair dyed next month but am afraid that

because of the protein intake that it may damage my hair. Gosh, I

hate to be a complainer but I am so frustrated. I turn to all of you

because I have no other resources. I cannot call Dr. Hahn each time I

a question as he is a very busy man.

Any information would greatly be appreciated.

God Bless You All

Patrice

Hi Patrice,

I am sorry that you are still in so much pain but after surgery each person reacts differently. Some people have a minimal of pain where as others have more. I had a lot of pain after surgery. As for bending over you really should not be doing much of that yet. I was told not to bend over until I got the clearance from my Surgeon. Remember the incisions are small but the work done on the inside is major.

I waited for a couple of months before coloring my hair because it puts so much stress on your hair and it usually will start to fall out anyway because of the surgery. You might want to ask your hairdresser first.

I know that the variety of food you are allowed right now gets boring after a while but the rewards are worth it. You need to give you stomach a chance to heal which is why you have this type of meal plan.

Don't worry about asking questions that is what we are all here for. To share our problems and our experiences. There are so many of us here that are now old timers. I had my surgery in January and it will have been 3 years. So take care and it will get better.

Happy Thanksgiving

Patrice, stay the course with the food as you have

been. As for the dye, I recommend that you don't do

anything with the air except your normal wash and

conditioning/styling. I am not a hair dresser or

anything so please check with one. I did not

experience the pain like you did so I am not sure what

to advise regarding that. I am sure someone will

chime in with some suggestions or thoughts. In spite

of everything, I do wish you a happpy thanksgiving!
