To measure if the bar is the right length.. the bolt on each side of the bar

should be square with the shoulders. Correct??

Mommy to (12-17-98) and

Christian (1-30-04) LCF - DBB (nights only)

I thought it was inside of heel to inside of heel?? But I've heard bolt to

bolt, as well. Does anyone have a definite answer? I'd like to know as well!

Both are correct - if you are used to measuring from bolt to bolt, by

all means, continue to do so...likewise if you usually measure from

inside of heel to inside of heel. There is a small difference of

maybe an inch or so depending on which way you measure but which ever

way works and is most comfortable for YOUR baby is fine.

No one has a definite answer to this one... The " official " litterature does

seem to point to the longer measurement, but some babies are more comfortable

with the bolt-to-bolt measurement, some with the heel-to-heel--it comes out to

at least a 2 inch difference in bialteral cases. I'd say, from what I've heard

here, that more babies (and more doctors/orthotists) use the heel-to-heel

measurement.

Jonah is considerably more happy with the longer (heel-to-heel) measurement. If

he gets to be restless at night and starts to complain about his shoes, it's the

first thing I check.

How does Dr Herzenberg tell you to set it up?
