Guest guest
Hi again! If you look click in the links section to the left of the this page (assuming that you are reading this online) you'll find the link entitled " Bracing Protocol per Dr. Ponseti " . I'll copy the link for you here: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/nosurgery4clubfoot/message/30939 The 70 degree rotation that everyone talks about is the rotation of the foot in the last cast and subsequently in the brace following casting. When the last cast is applied (after the tenotomy if one is required), it should be full leg cast - toe to groin and the leg will be bent at the knee at almost 90 degrees and then the foot should be rotated outward at about 70 degrees. If you you scour the photos section here you should come upon quite a few if the 'last cast' and that should give you a visual for comparison. When that cast is removed, the foot will not stay in that position but it should be able to tolerate that same 70 degree rotation when wearing the brace. You won't see the creases until after that last cast when the foot is set at the 70 degree rotation and is " over-corrected " . Hope this helps, Daiga > , I'm glad to hear that Avery is responding so well to the > casting! What a relief!
