Guest guest
Hi again. I hesitate to even tell you all this because I see some things on here against duPont in Delaware, but we see Dr. Jay. He has said that Jordan, my son, is a different kind of a case because he has caudal regression syndrome. He says that because of Jordan's nerve issues, it is why Ponsetti wouldn't work for him. But now I see complaints that Dr. Jay NEVER uses Ponseti. Does anyone have experience with this? Anyone have a child with spina bifida on here? Guest guest
Hello le and welcome. I am not sure of your sons situation exactly, but I'm sure Dr. Ponseti has had at a case or more of his type situation. I have to imagine there is a way. Have you thought about emailing Dr. Ponseti directly? Explain to him your exact situation and he will surely answer all of your questions. His email is: ignacio-ponseti@... FYI- Dr. Jay from DuPont is not a favorite around here. I'm sure those parents will chime in. I personally have not been to him. Guest guest
We went for a second opinion at Shriners, and they said to stick with Dr. Jay because he is the best and knows a lot more than they do about CRS and clubfeet. > Hello le and welcome. > I am not sure of your sons situation exactly, but I'm sure Dr. Ponseti has > had at a case or more of his type situation. Guest guest
I would email Dr. Ponseti for his opinion. Dr. Jay is not a qualified physician in the Ponseti method. However, I know you haven't used the Ponseti method thus far. Maybe he is the best for other style treatments other than Ponseti. Have you been to the official Ponseti website? It is http://www.vh.org/pediatric/patient/orthopaedics/clubfeet/index.html You can read and maybe find more info on your sons situation. Do you live in Deleware or PA? I know many parents from that area drive to Baltimore to see Dr. Herzenberg. He is the best on the East coast. Guest guest
Dr. Herzenberg excells in many areas, not just clubfoot. I am not familiar with caudal regression aside from your description. I'm sure Dr. H knows about it and has treated it as well. You can email Dr. Herzenberg with questions. He is great about responding to everyone quickly. His email is: FRCSC@.... He works at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. That center is rated as one of the best Nationwide. He is Chief of Pediatrics there. If he is not aware of caudel regression, I'm sure he can recommend someone who is. I really hope you try to contact either Dr.P or Dr. H. It sounds like you are unhappy with your sons treatment thus far. We are certainly here to help with whatever you decide. Let us know how it turns out. Guest guest
All email addresses are cut off in posts for privacy reasons. To get the whole thing to post, you can just put spaces before and after the @ symbol (i.e. name @ yahoo.com). The email address will work if you click on it, it wil take you to a window to write the message, but you won't know what the whole address is until they reply... As for Dr. Herzenberg, the email address is also on Dr. Ponseti's website. HTH- > That's weird. It is yahoo's competitor aol.com.
